Why become a member of IF?
IF is an association for companies within the insulation industry. Currently, IF has approximately 75 insulation contractors as members, along with around ten members from the manufacturing and wholesale sectors.
Together, we discuss common issues, and we also work collaboratively with clients, authorities, consultants, and other organizations. For many, being a member of a trade association is a given. Previously, IF was purely an association for contractors, but since 2006, we also welcome companies from the manufacturing and wholesale industries.

The Association of Insulation Companies, or IF as we commonly call ourselves, works to strengthen the competitiveness of insulation contractors. Together with our member companies, we highlight the importance of the insulation industry for a modern society and what technical insulation contributes to creating safe, energy-efficient, and sustainable buildings where people who live, work, and use them enjoy a safe and healthy environment.
IF creates value for its members by providing networking opportunities, showcasing the industry’s innovation, and marketing the industry and its significance for the climate transition our society is undergoing. We strive to demonstrate the profitability of investing in technical insulation.
Technical insulation provides immediate energy efficiency as soon as it’s installed. This also means that insulation contributes to increasing the lifespan of other installations, preventing condensation and Legionella outbreaks. It’s together within the industry that we show what we truly contribute. We do this by having a strong industry association, representing our industry, and collectively engaging in the development of the insulation industry.
IF operates IF-SKOLAN (the IF School), where we train the companies’ future HVAC insulators and insulation sheet metal workers. Through IF-SKOLAN, we offer a cost-effective education to secure companies’ access to skilled labor and meet customer demands for high-quality work.
You can become a member of IF if you are a contractor in technical insulation, or a supporting member if you are a manufacturer or wholesaler of insulation materials or products.

You can easily apply for membership below. In your application, please attach your certificate of registration, latest annual report, and insurance certificate.

The cost of membership is an annual membership fee of SEK 2.500 per year and SEK 200 upon entry, plus a variable service fee calculated on the company’s turnover for the previous year. The service fee is 0.07 % of turnover if the company is also a member of Installatörsföretagen (The Swedish Association of Installation Companies) and 0.18 % for individual membership.
The fee is invoiced twice a year. The membership fee is exclusive of VAT and not tax-deductible. The service fee is tax-deductible and VAT is added.
Swedish supporting members pay an annual membership fee of SEK 2.500 plus a service fee of SEK 18.500 ex. VAT. Foreign supporting members pay a fee of SEK 21.000.
